Summary : Royal Observer Corps post, built during World War II on top of the Council incinerator building in Hornsea. Post no longer extant. Part of this structure is visible on vertical air photographs.
More information : (TA 1967 4855) Royal Observer Corps post (ROC). This ROC post was positioned on the roof of the council incinerator building. It is now totally destroyed and was plotted for the survey from aerial photographs, therefore the material types used are unknown. The site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group as part of the FSG,RCHME:Holderness Survey in 1992 who confirmed that the site is now totally destroyed. (1-1a) Part of this structure is visible on vertical air photographs (2) This Royal Observer Corps post was positioned on the roof of the council incinerator building. It was destroyed by 1992 and plotted for the survey from Aerial Photographs, therefore the material types used are unknown. (3)
