Summary : Concrete structure, probably the remains of a World War II pillbox undermined by coastal erosion and fallen onto the beach from the cliff above, Mappleton. The pillbox was constructed between 1940 and 1941.

These remains of a concrete structure, believed to have been a
pillbox of the standard lozenge type, are situated on the beach east
of Rolston Camp. The building was constructed of re-inforced concrete and has been destroyed after toppling onto the beach when the cliff was eroded away. The site was identified by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992 during the Holderness Survey. (1)
