(1) At Milecastle 52 a broken slab on which had been roughly scratched the name of Hadrian was found in 1862. (2-3) No further information. (4) Prior to the earlier belief that the fragment was found at Milecastle 52, it is now stated that it was found in the Pike Hill signal-tower instead. (5)
