More information : SK 8235 1423 Whissendine has a preserved six storey stone tower mill with a replaced ogee cap. The mill worked until 1922 with four sails driving four pairs of stones. (1)
The Windmill, built c1830-40, disused c1922. The sails and fantail were removed in the 1930s, though the machinery is intact. Grade 2*. (2)
Large 7-storey stone tower mill, which still has all its machinery. The 6th floor was used for observation. This originally had three windows, but a fourth (since blocked) was added to give all-round vision. Recent repairs to the stonework have almost obliterated the window on the outside, but it remains clearly visible inside.Whissendine Mill, at W end of Whissendine village. (3)
