Full description
1> A 6m length of Coventry's medieval town wall was recorded in a watching brief at Bond Street during November 2005. Made of sandstone, the wall measured 2m wide and 1.6m high. Another sandstone-built wall to the immediate south and at right angles to it, measuring 1m wide, 2.2m in length and 1.7m high appeared to be a buttress. Both structures cut into a medieval buried soil and subsoil. No other archaeological features were found as the area was heavily truncated by modern services.
