Summary
This section of the medieval city wall is a scheduled monument. It consists of a stretch of wall constructed from a rubble core and facing stones. The stretch of wall survives as the rear of garden walls to houses on the south side of Godiva St.

Full description
1> 20I: 600' stretch in fairly good condition, surviving as rear of garden walls
to houses on south side of Godiva St. Remains of core of wall and some facing
stones preserved beside public pathways, carparks and gardens of Lanchester
Poly, alogside and under ring road and access ways. Height varies from ground
level to 7'. Some stone disturbed. About 120yds in all. None of buildings or
street patterns survive. From E wall is one course high and 4' wide for c15yds,
then for c40yds c4' high, mostly rubble core, but some facing stones on both
sides. Width varies. This has been pretty firmly consolidated and is now a
feature within garden. There is a small freestanding chunk a few feet long and
high, set in concrete, under the fly-over. Then follws a further long stretch,
c70yds, also within garden, up to 6' high with some facing stones all
consolidated.
