Full description
1> B Hobley examined 110m of town wall in Godiva Street 1971. Evidence
for a 12th century ditch and rampart beneath a 14th century wall, but purpose not established.
The rear of wall and bank lined with cesspits indicating proximity of domestic
occupation. Trenching N of wall revealed a substantial town ditch.
