Full description
'Hanbury Fields' shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map of 1884. (JM, 29/4/03) <1>
The farm was buried under debris following an accidental explosion in the underground RAF bomb store in 1944 (see PRNs 50421-2) which left a crater measuring 800 ft long by 300 ft wide by 120 ft deep on Stone Pits Hill bluff to the east. <2>
The farm was extant in circa 1980. (JM, 29/4/03) <3>

The farmstead appears to be marked on the 1830s 1" Ordnance Survey map. (SB, 20-Jul-2015) <5>
Hanbury Fields was an isolated farmstead which was laid out around a loose, two-sided yard with farmhouse set long side on and additional detached elements. (SB, 20-Jul-2015) <6>
