Deserted Settlement: In 1086 2 villagers with 1 plough, 2 Englishmen with 1.5 ploughs and 1 slave. The village was worth 16 shillings. <1>
The village is suggested to have been deserted between 1334 and 1524. <2>
Earthworks are shown to the north and north-east of Syerscote Manor on recent Ordnance Survey mapping. (SB, 25-Oct-2011) <3>
