Full description

Burton on Trent Castle was extant in 1086 when it was held by Henry de Ferrers. It probably fell into disuse soon after. <1> <2>

Scholars are mainly of the belief that any Domesday reference to a castle in conjunctin with Burton refers to Tutbury Castle, but local traditions persist. <not sourced>
