Full description
A cast iron triangular section milepost 19 1/2 inches wide and 12 inches deep with an angled front panel. The signage on the left hand side read Alton (1/2 mile), Denstone (2 1/2 miles), Ellastone (4 1/2 miles), Ashbourne (9 miles); while that of the right hand side read Cheadle (4 miles). The photograph of this milepost shows that only the base is still in place and the remainder of the mile post has been lost. (LF, 10-Jan-2007) <1>
