Full description

Milepost: One of the Cheadle series of mileposts. The writing plate has been removed. <1>

The remains of a milestone situated to the south-west of Blore cross roads. The plate is now missing. (SB, 30-Oct-2007) <2>

The milepost is dated to 1822. (SB, 26-Sept-2011) <3>

A milestone located on the Blythe Marsh to Thorpe turnpike route in Blore with Swinscoe Parish. The stone measures 37" high by 24" wide x 7" deep. The maker of the stone is unknown, but it dates to 1822. The plate is missing, but would have read 'CHEADLE / 10'. (SB, 17-Nov-2015) <4>
