Summary
An earthwork mound surviving under rough grassland, which is scheduled as a round barrow. It is considered that this may not actually be a barrow, but possibly be the remains of a motte. It is known locally as the Auctioneers Mound and a service is held on the mound once a year on Plough Sunday.

Full description
ROUND BARROW. MOUND UNDER ROUGH PERMANENT GRASS IN ARABLE. 20M BASE DIAMETER, 1.8M HIGH, 9M DIAMETER ACROSS FLAT TOP. POSSIBLY A SMALL MOTTE. NO TRACE OF A DITCH. DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN EXCAVATED. A DOUBTFUL BARROW. POSSIBLY ALTERED IN SHAPE FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE CHURCH SERVICE HELD ON THE MOUND ONCE A YEAR ON PLOUGH SUNDAY. KNOWN LOCALLY AS THE AUCTIONEER'S MOUND. <1>

SCHEDULED AS A BARROW -STILL DOUBTFUL.
