Full description
Fishpond: Fishponds formed by stone dams across a small valley. Probably medieval, but could be later ornamental garden features. <not sourced>
The fishponds at Beaudesert are possibly medieval in origin, but could be ornamental features of a late date. (SB, 23-Feb-2004) <1>
A series of pools and rock-cut cascades formed by stone dams across a small valley northwest of the hall. The pools are considered to be of medieval origin, but the present structures appear to correspond to the drawings featured in Repton's Red Book (c.1814). No evidence has been located to prove that they were executed in 1814, although two pools are recorded on the 1824 Estate. (LH, 09-Jul-2007) <2>
