Full description

Suggestion that earthwork beside the river on the north-west side of Upton is the remains of a truncated motte. [1][3]

Site of National Significance - considered for scheduling by English Heritage. [2]

Site observed in 1994. Partial as on private land. Viewed from the road and carpark there is no sign of a motte. However there does appear to be a possibly infilled pond feature in the west part of the field. It is suggested that this site is extremely dubious as there is no visible motte at the site. [4]
