Monument Number 1035099

Hob Uid: 1035099
Location :
Devon
West Devon
Okehampton, Okehampton Hamlets
Grid Ref : SX5971096000
Summary : Probable Roman road, seen as a cropmark associated with the Roman Fort SX 59 NE 14.
More information : A rapid examination of air photography (1a) suggests the presence of a probable road, of Roman date, associated with the Roman fort SX 59 NE 14. The road is visible as a cropmark, apparently aligned to the east entrance of the fort and extending from SX 5971 9600 to SX 5989 9599 where it appears to turn northeasterly, presumably skirting a small stream.
