More information : Six or seven roughly parallel linear earthworks of uncertain date, possibly representing Medieval or Post Medieval field boundaries or the remnants of ridge and furrow, are located on the south facing side of Deangate Ridge near the top of the ridge. The slight earthwork banks range in length from 112m to 390m. The northernmost banks, centred at TQ 7678 7428, lie within an area used for military training in the first half of the twentieth century (Monument 1548195), and the southernmost, at approximately TQ 7676 7411 and TQ 7721 7431, lie within or immediately to the east of Lodge Hill Ordnance Depot (Monument 1077634). The features have been mapped from Lidar imagery as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (1) |
