Summary : A Second World War dispersed accommodation site for RAF Babdown Farm RLG (Relief Landing Ground) (Monument Number 138356) is visible on aerial photographs and was located northeast of Beverston Old Brake. The dispersed site comprised barrack blocks, ablutions block, four blast shelters and a picket post (guardhouse). The majority of the structures and buildings were subsequently demolished by 1972, though the picket post is still extant on aerial photographs taken in 2006.
More information : A Second World War dispersed accommodation site for RAF Babdown Farm RLG (Relief Landing Ground) (Monument Number 138356) is visible on aerial photographs and has been mapped as part of The Cotswold Hills NMP. The dispersed site was centred at ST 8568 9451 and located northeast of Beverston Old Brake. The dispersed site comprised barrack blocks, ablutions block, four blast shelters and a picket post (guardhouse). The majority of the structures and buildings were subsequently demolished by 1972, though the picket post is still extant on aerial photographs taken in 2006. (1-3)
