More information : [SP 2828 7222] Mound [T.I.] (1) On a plan of Kenilworth Castle and its environments by the Rev. E.H. Knowles, 1872, a bank is shown on the south side of the Finham Brook, which extends along almost the entire length of Abbey Pool. The mound appears to be the sole remaining portion. Dimensions:- 20.0m. E-W, 14.0m. N-S, Height 2.0m. (2) The mound has been re-surveyed at 1:2500 scale. (3) Survey of 24.4.61 still correct. (4)
An earthen mound located south west of Kenilworth Abbey and immediately south of the Finham Brook. The mound, which measures roughly 20 metres in diameter and 2 metres high, is shown on early Ordnance Survey maps and is believed to represent the remains of a windmill mound. Scheduled. (5) |
