More information : Medieval and/or post medieval ridge and furrow, a stack stand and post medieval narrow ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks on historic air photographs in the parish of Brough with St Giles around SE223 988. The possible stack stand is located at SE2245 9880. On Google Earth photography some of these features appear to have been levelled and some were clearly destroyed by the cutting for the re-routing of the A1. However the lidar-derived images suggest that ridge and furrow survived as earthworks at SE2232 9894 until at least 2002, which is significant because of its proximity to Cataractonium fort and town (UID 52316) and for the associated Roman features it may conceal.
