Summary : Post medieval trackways are visible as earthworks on air photographs. Several trackways align west to east for 1 km and cross an area of extensive extraction and quarrying. Some of the trackways may be associated with this extraction (see NY 66 NE 365, UID 1393454) and are fairly deeply incised, forming almost hollow ways. Some cross Fell End Roman camp (see NY 66 NE 14, 13863) and others lie parallel to Stanegate Roman road ( see NY 66 NE 180, UID 911991).
More information : Post medieval trackways are visible as earthworks on air photographs, extending for 1 km from NY 6831 6541 to NY 6934 6567. Several trackways align west to east and cross an area of extensive extraction and quarrying. Some of the trackways may be associated with this extraction (see NY 66 NE 365, UID 1393454) and are fairly deeply incised, forming almost hollow ways. Some cross Fell End Roman camp (see NY 66 NE 14, 13863) and others lie parallel to Stanegate Roman road ( see NY 66 NE 180, UID 911991).
