| Summary : An extensive area of contiguous Medieval ridge and furrow in the north eastern part of Blockley parish has been mapped from aerial photographs by English Heritage's Gloucestershire NMP. The ridges were visible as earthworks in 1947, but at least half had been levelled by ploughing by 1972. The fields are part of a much larger extent of ridge and furrow. |

An extensive area of contiguous Medieval ridge and furrow in the north eastern part of Blockley parish has been mapped from aerial photographs by English Heritage's Gloucestershire NMP. The ridges were visible as earthworks in 1947, but at least half had been levelled by ploughing by 1972. The fields cover an area of about 440 hectares, and are part of a much larger extent of ridge and furrow. These fields lie between the Medieval settlements of Upper and Lower Ditchford. (1-3) |
