Summary : Cropmarks of three ring ditches, a settlement area and track, a series of enclosures and three pit alignments as well as a number of linear ditches. The Roman road (RR 251) ends at a depression, possibly a wharf site near the river.
More information : Centred TL 136971. Boat House Complex: RB: comprising three ring ditches, a settlement area and track, a series of enclosures and three pit alignments as well as a number of linear ditches. The Roman Road (RR 251) passes to the S and ends at a large depression near the river, suggested by Margary (2) to have been a wharf. Illus. (1-2) The entire area is under crop, with apart from the road, little or no surface disturbance. The Peterborough Society have no knowledge of any finds from here. The depression, situated at TL 13679686 has been recently filled in. There does not seem to have been a connection with the river but natural silting may have eliminated all traces. (3)
